Sarah Wiltshire signs for Yeovil
Yeovil Town Ladies are delighted to announce the signing of Sarah Wiltshire.
The former Watford Ladies player, put pen to paper recently in a transfer from the London based WSL2 club. Wiltshire was a prolific goalscorer for Watford in the Women’s Premier League and will be a threatening attacking player who will add even more strength to the Glovers, as they look to push on in the second half of the season.
Yeovil Town Ladies Chairman David Mills said “Sarah is an outstanding player and it is great news that she has joined us. As a club we are totally committed to improving on and off the pitch and Sarah's signing with us underlines that still further”
Manager Sarah Lawler is also very happy to have Wiltshire on board and said “We are delighted to sign Sarah to join our well established squad and really feel she will fit in with the club, both on and off the pitch.”
“She has a fantastic ability to make things happen in the final third of the pitch and has that cutting edge in an area we were looking to strengthen. She can play anywhere across the front or wide, so her versatility is going to be a massive asset to the squad and I believe that once she has settled in we will soon start to see her ability come alive on the pitch.”
“She has made a massive move coming to us from her long service at Watford, but this new start will be really good for her and I am sure the players and staff will make her feel very welcome.”
Pictured is Sarah Wiltshire who today met up with her new team mates at the Continental Cup match against Notts County, but due to being cup tied, could not play any part in the game. She commented by saying “Yeovil Town offers a different and exciting new challenge for me. I needed a fresh opportunity as a player and I am always looking to improve and develop.”
“I have heard so many good things about the club over the last 12 months and it was a chance to be in a new environment where I can progress. Having trained with the squad on Thursday night the intensity and work rate really impressed me and I can't wait to get started. As a new player it will be nice to have some familiar faces in the club and to have an opportunity to work with Jamie again (former manager when dual signed to Cardiff).”
You can see Wiltshire and her team mates in action at the next home game which is Sunday 27th July when Millwall visit the Jones Stadium in Sherborne. Kick off is 2.00pm and tickets can be purchased at http://www.yeoviltownladies.com/tickets.html costing £4.00 adults / £2.50 concessions or by paying cash on the day.
