Chelsey Pitchers is a highly promising defender who joined Yeovil Town Ladies in the summer of 2009 from the Somerset County Centre of Excellence.
She plays on either full back, and can also operate as part of a back three, should the team adopt a wing back system. She is a determined player who never gives up, and plays with a great determination to win.
Chelsey is a good tackler, lively on the ball and reads the game well. She also possesses excellent pace, and is strong at holding the ball. She is good in the air, and is a fine team player.
Like all of her Yeovil Town Ladies colleagues, Chelsey is football mad and has been playing since she was eight, when she joined Clevedon Town Ladies. She thrived with the North Somerset club, and went on to join the Bristol Academy when she was fourteen.
Chelsey spent a season at Bristol, and did really well, soon attracting the attention of the county set-up, and as a consequence, she joined the Somerset Centre of Excellence when she was fifteen.
She enjoyed excellent development at County, and played in the same Under-Sixteen team as Terri Trowbridge and Demi Agar. A number of sterling performances soon attracted the attention of clubs, and in the end she decided that her future lay with Yeovil Town Ladies.
Chelsey is still learning, and she is enthusiastic to continue developing and improving her game, being determined to go as far in football as she possibly can.
She is not frightened to put in the hard work on the training ground, and works her socks off on the pitch too. She listens to what the coaches tell her and learns quickly. With this fine attitude, and natural ability in abundance, Chelsey Pitchers looks to have a very bright future.
