Despite her tender years, Kia Bowles is one of the longest serving players with Yeovil Town Ladies, having been at the club from the early days under John Flatters.

She is also a prime example of determination, having comeback from a number of career threatening injuries, including two cruciate knee ligament problems. And come back she has, with her continuing to be an integral member of the squad, playing either at left back or in midfield.

Kia has been in football for most of her life, initially playing in the boys’ game until the age of ten. At eleven she joined Yeovil Town Ladies, training in the youth set-up until she was fourteen. At that point she went straight into the senior first team, where she has been operating virtually ever since!

Kia played for the Somerset Under-Eighteen side, and then in the full women’s team when she was just seventeen. Kia also had a spell training with Clevedon Town Ladies, but she always knew she was Yeovil Town, and has proved this with well over ten years service.

Kia possesses a great left foot, reads the game well and is confident on the ball. She is also a dead ball specialist who can send in highly effective free kicks and corners, with it not unknown for her to score directly from either!
