Rosie Eggleston is a cultured defender who joined Yeovil Town Ladies from the Dorset Centre of Excellence in the summer of 2007.
Her primary position is at left back, but she can also, if required, play at right back or in central midfield, so is a massive asset to the squad.
Rosie is a good tackler, and supports the defence well, but her major strength is coming forward with the ball, or sending quality passes down the flank to the attackers.
She is an intelligent player who reads the game well, and in doing so, acts as a perfect link between the defence and midfield. She can also be a great asset in and around the opponents’ penalty box, able to get good balls in for scoring opportunities.
In joining the club in 2007, Rosie played for a few months in the Reserves, but in the late Autumn she got her first team chance, and grabbed it with both hands, going on to make the left back position her own for the rest of the season, putting in consistently good performances and gaining much praise from the coaches, all recognising her special talent.
Rosie unfortunately missed most of the 2008/09 campaign with a serious shoulder injury, but now fit again, she is looking to win back her left back position, and put her all into helping the Glovers gain promotion this season.
Rosie Eggleston loves her football, and dreams of getting as far in the sport she can, also aiming to go into coaching to put something back into the game. She also hopes to raise enough money to go to Cape Town in South Africa to work with disadvantaged children in orphanages.
