Karen Gosby is an experienced and versatile defender who joined Yeovil Town Ladies in February 2006.
Karen can play right across the defensive line, and if called upon, can also play in midfield. Wherever she operates, she puts in a 100%, and is one of the most popular players in the squad.
She is a good tackler of the ball, has good heading ability, and despite her age, she still possesses good pace, allowing her to move quickly from defence to attack.
Unlike most of her teammates, Karen entered ladies football quite late, at the age of nineteen. She started with Bournemouth Town Ladies, where they won the Dorset League twice – the team once going through the whole season unbeaten!
She then moved to Dorchester Town Ladies, and won the Dorset County Cup, as well as the South-West League One title. Whilst with the Magpies, Karen got her chance at county level, going on to play for Dorset for a number of years.
Karen Gosby loves playing for Yeovil Town Ladies and intends to finish her career with the club. At the age of thirty she may be the oldest member of the squad, but still has plenty of years left in her. For every season that she continues to play, Yeovil Town Ladies with be very fortunate to benefit from this committed player.
Karen ran the London Marathon in 2008, and got married in July 2009.
