Charlie Lewis came through the ranks at Yeovil Town Ladies, and with her great promise and dedication she has excelled at every level that she’s played in.
She joined the club when she was just eleven years old and progressed through the system, eventually playing a staring role in Kia Bowles’s highly successful Under-Sixteen’s squad.
She then stepped up to the Reserve team in 2007, and not only fitted in well, but to many she was the star player, picking up both the Manager’s player, and the Players’ player of the season awards in that first season.
Charlie predominantly plays at right back, but since entering the senior game she has proved that she’s just as comfortable playing in midfield and even up front.
She is very much a team player, and loves her football, so wants to be playing week in week out. She has proved this well in her willingness to play wherever the manager puts her, and in doing so, always puts in 100 per cent.
Charlie is a good tackler of the ball, keeps possession well and has a fine footballing brain, being able to distribute effectively to midfield. She communicates well with her fellow teammates, and is popular both on and off the field.
Charlie’s progression has not gone unnoticed with manager Steve Phelps, and in the 2008/09 season she progressed to the first team bench, impressing all with her performances once on the pitch.
