Janie Morgan joined Yeovil Town Ladies from AFC Bournemouth Ladies in March 2009.

She is a talented and strong central midfielder, who can if required play in defence too. She has a tremendous work rate, doesn’t shirk a tackle, and is a very good passer of the ball.

Janie also likes to get out wide, and is able to deliver a good quality cross. She also has the ability to pick out a striker's run and set them up with great through balls, and as a result is a vital cog in the team’s attack.

Janie started her career with Dorset club Pool Town, with whom she made her senior debut at the age of fifteen. She was always destined for higher things, and at the age of sixteen moved to Southampton Saints. In a five year stint with the Hampshire club, Janie played at Premier League level and developed into a fine player. She also came to the attention of the Hampshire FA, and made a number of appearances for the county team.

However, she always dreamed of playing for her hometown club, and at the age of twenty joined AFC Bournemouth. Janie became an important part of the Cherries set up, and was soon made captain. She also changed her county elegance and became a fixture in the Dorset team.

She went on to lead Bournemouth to the League and Cup ‘double’ when they went up to the South West Combination, and then played an integral role in the team finishing in the top four in 2008.

Following the sad demise of AFC Bournemouth Ladies in 2009 Janie found herself without a club, but soon got the calling from Steve Phelps and came up to Somerset to join former teammates Karen Perkins, Lindsey Roe and Claire Heydon at Yeovil Town Ladies.

Janie Morgan is a real battler, and is always willing to go the extra mile for her teammates. This together with a great natural ability makes her a prime asset as the Glovers go for all out promotion this season.
