Yeovil Town Ladies Reserve Team

The Premier Challenge - Season 2011/12
DESPITE the Yeovil Town Ladies First Team having been relegated from the FA Women’s Premier League last season, the Reserve team still play their football at that level, operating in the FA Women’s Premier League, (Reserves) Southern Division Two.

The squad is managed and coached by Andy Dickinson, and he is assisted by Mike Board and a number of other volunteers.

The team have already tasted considerable success, having impressed in their first season at this level. Previous to this they finished third in the South West League, having been promoted from the Somerset League in 2008/09 – an achievement at the time that saw them playing just two levels below the First Team. Previous to that the girls won the Knock Out Cup in the 2006/07 season, and finished runners up in the League in 2007/08.

Operating at a higher level allows this talented squad, which has an average age of just 18, to effectively support the First Team, giving the players the necessary experience to step up. And with them playing in an official reserve league there are no restrictions for players operating between the reserve and first teams, which allows for an even greater development.

The Yeovil Town Ladies Reserve Team play their home games at the Somerton Sports Club on Sundays, kicking off at 2.00pm. They train with the rest of the senior squad at the Tintinhull Sports Ground each Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.

Any players interested in joining the Yeovil Town Ladies senior squad, either at Reserve or First team level should contact club Secretary Ali King. For full contact details, please Click Here.
